Browlift / Chin Augmentation
Browlift (Forehead Lift)
Nassau County and Manhattan
Browlifts can revitalize drooping or lined foreheads, helping you look less angry, sad or tired. Using either traditional, minimally invasive (endoscopic) or suture suspension (string) methods, browlifts involve the alteration of the muscles above the eyes to smooth lines and raise the eyebrows for a more youthful appearance. The procedure is often combined with other operations such as blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) and facelifts to improve the look of the eyes and other areas of the face.
While browlifts are typically performed on patients aged 40-60 to counteract the effects of aging, anyone with lined or inelastic skin on the forehead – whether it’s caused by muscle activity or inherited conditions – is eligible. Depending on the type of browlift procedure you have will determine whether you will require local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia. Following browlifting procedures, patients appear more youthful, happier and more awake.
With a browlift, you will be on your feet and able to wash your hair in a day or two, and many patients return to work in 7-10 days or less. Swelling and bruising should fade by the third week.
Great Neck and Manhattan
Although many people do not notice it, a weak chin can significantly affect facial appearance, causing the nose to look larger or the neck to look loose. Chin augmentation is often performed to provide a more balanced facial appearance and create a chin that is stronger, wider or longer, depending on each patient’s individual goals. Also known as mentoplasty, chin augmentation is often performed in conjunction with rhinoplasty or other facial procedures in order to achieve optimal results.
During the mentoplasty procedure, an implant made of silicone or another soft, flexible material is inserted into the chin through a small incision underneath or through an incision in the mouth. This procedure usually takes about 30 minutes to perform, with patients usually able to return to work and other regular activities the next day.
